On Friday, May 31, 2019, the Monica Burguera Foundation (MBF) will hold their 8th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting boating safety awareness and education in Miami-Dade County.

The tournament will take place at the beautiful renovated Miami International Links Miami, Melreese Country Club and promises a day chock-full of fun, raffle, hole-in-one and great golf! Golfers will play for a chance to win an automobile from Brickell Buick & GMC. Among the participants at this event will be representatives from South Florida’s major corporations as well as local political and community leaders.

““Boating and Golf are two of South Floridians favorite pass times so what better way to raise money for boating safety other than a golf tournament? It is such a natural fit. This tournament is a great opportunity for the community to come out, play golf but most importantly raise money for boating safety. We ask everyone to prioritize boating safety when on the water and financially by supporting the Monica Burguera Foundation. Our goal is to make Miami’s waterways safer through the free boater’s safety education classes, which we offer throughout the year” expressed Mabel Gonzalez, Director of Operations for Monica Burguera Foundation.

Tournament registration begins at 12:30 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
A cocktail reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the on-site dining room followed by dinner.

Registration for individual players is $220; a foursome is $800. Registration includes: green and cart fee, complimentary on-course beverages, box lunch, post-tournament cocktail reception and dinner and golfer goody bag. To register and purchase tickets, please contact Mabel at mm@monicaburguerafoundation.org or 305-398-4609.

Boating accidents affect thousands of families, friends and neighbors in our community. On October 7th, 2006, it devastatingly affected the Burguera family. A tragic boating accident during the 2006 Columbus Day Regatta weekend festivities claimed the life of their daughter and sister, Monica Burguera, a friend James Noel Pou, and left many others seriously injured.

As a result, in 2007 The Monica Burguera Foundation was founded to promote boating safety. Through sponsors and their donations we are able to offer this boating safety course to each and every one of you in conjunction with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

GO FISH

The mission of the Monica Burguera Foundation (MBF) is to raise funds and awareness in order to create programs that will educate boaters and create consciousness of the importance of boater’s safety.  Boating accidents and deaths are preventable!  Through education, the Monica Burguera Foundation is working diligently to protect all boaters from boating accidents.  MBF believes that boating safety education can prevent accidents and deaths.  Since 2013, the Monica Burguera Foundation has certified over 5,000 students through its “About Boating Safety Courses”.  Our dedication to boating safety through education, conducted in conjunction with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, is open to all in the hopes of saving lives.

As a non-for-profit organization the Monica Burguera Foundation depends on contributions from sponsors to help meet its operational goals. We would like to invite you to become an Official Sponsor of the Monica Burguera Foundation. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the important work being carried out by the foundation, with the goal of raising awareness about how to stay safe on the water and avoid tragic accidents.  The monies raised will go towards its objective: Promoting Watercraft Safety Through Education.  We are providing you with information about our organization, and hope that after reviewing the Monica Burguera Foundation’s mission, you will agree that our goals and objectives are worthy of your support.
