ABS COURSE

The Monica Burguera Foundation in conjunction with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is committed to create awareness & educate the community by offering a FREE About Boating Safety Course.

A.B.S. Federal Course – Valid in all US States
Provided by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Upon Completion of this course you will receive
most of the important watercraft safety measures,
a Certificate of Completion and a boating safety
card.

September 17, 2010: A White Night for Monica!

June 17-19th, 2010 MBF Fishing Tournament

The MBF established a Fishing Tournament to benefit the Monica Burguera Foundation. Thanks to our great sponsors we have an amazing itinerary planned including food, drinks, music, raffles and an
event specifically aimed at family enjoyment.

October 10-12th, 2009 Columbus Day Regatta Festivities

Volunteers and members of the Monica Burguera Foundation re-visited most of the Miami Marina’s in celebration of the Columbus Day to distribute safety items such as glow sticks, boating educational safety pamphlets and flyers. We also promoted the Monica Burguera Foundation by distributing MBF hats, t-shirts, and advertising our FREE Watercraft Safety Course in efforts to create awareness for this cause. Volunteers and officers of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary arrived at these locations between the morning hours of 8am till 1pm.

September 26, 2009 Inauguration Gala Dinner

Our Foundation organized its first charity gala on September 26, 2009 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, FL.

Our first event set out a mission to raise funds and awareness regarding the lack of boating education and safety that are personally affecting our families, friends and neighbors.

Local leaders and T.V. personalities of our community such as Maria Elvira Salazar, Emmy award-winning broadcast veteran and host of “Maria Elvira Live”.

As well as speakers, Ms. Maureen A. Healy, executive director of the Personal Watercraft Industry Association (PWIA), Mr. Christopher Todd, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Chuck Collins of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Boating Safety Division, and among others made a presence at our event.

The success of this event was credited largely to our sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event. The money raised will go towards its objective:

Promoting Watercraft Safety through Education.
